From Chill Studio which is located at 287 Durham St North, Christchurch. Alternatively postage is available for purchase and we will courier the pass out to you. Postage is overnight to main centres, please allow two week days for rural postage.
In 2020 the Chill6 and Chill12 Season Passes are available, plus the Chill Travel Pass.
Chill Travel Passes is on sale in early 2020 and allows for a choice of 7 or 10 days skiing across 12 ski areas, plus Non-Ski Day Offers including accommodation, lessons and mountain biking.
Chill6: Porters, Cheeseman, Broken River, Temple Basin and Mt Olympus
Chill12: Rainbow, Mt Lyford, Hanmer Springs, Cheeseman, Broken River, Temple Basin, Mt Olympus, Awakino, Fox Peak, Mt Dobson and Porters.
All 11 Ski Areas are included in the Travel Pass.
In 2020 the Chill6 pass is a season pass to five ski areas in Selwyn. Of the six Selwyn ski areas, Craigieburn is not accessible in 2020. All other five ski areas have unlimited access. The Chill Travel Pass accesses 11 ski areas for either 7 or 10 days throughout the season.
Yes, two days on your Travel Pass can be used at both Porters plus up to two days at the Christchurch Adventure Park. The (two) days not used at Porters or Christchurch Adventure Park can be used at the other 11 ski areas, as well as for non ski day offers. The pass call also be used at Chill for a bike hire or toward a Christchurch Urban Bike Tour.
No, Chill Passes are not transferable. You do have one buddy day on the Travel Pass. You can take up a friend and use two days on the pass to access the ski area. The buddy day is part of the 7 or 10 days on the pass, it is not an extra day. The buddy day is not valid at Porters.
The Travel Pass has limited days either 7 or 10 days and these can be used for skiing or non ski day offers, e.g., towards staying on the mountain.
The Chill12 Season Pass does not have any non ski day offers, it's purely a season pass. We welcome your feedback if you'd like the season pass extended to include non-ski day offers.
Go on, try biking to us and you can bring your bike in the front door. We also service bikes so you can leave it with us.
If you are in a vehicle there is parking available on both Armagh St and Gloucester St, plus the Art Gallery with underground parking.
Alternatively try free parking around Cranmer Square or Hagley Park. If you are stopping for 10 min there is a free park directly across the road outside the Old Provincial Chambers on Durham St.
We set discounted rates for families. Simply choose the passes you want and receive a better rate than if you purchased the passes individually (all passes listed on the "Family Passes" page have already been discounted from standard rates, simply add these rates together to obtain your total, no further discount is applied to them).
No - the discounted rate is the same and is only applied once.
Yes, we do. This was introduced in 2016 and is available as an Adult Season Season Pass only and must be purchased at the same time as another Adult Season Pass. We have two levels of a Parent Pass, based on age of children. The first Parent Pass is available for people with someone the age of 10 years and under up until the 20th of June 2020. We require proof of this in the form of a birth certificate to issue the Parent Pass. The second Parent Pass and new to 2020 is a family with youth age 11-18. Prices are set out on the Family Pass Pricing page. The Parent Pass has the same unlimited access as the Adult Season Pass.
Yes you both get a pass and you can access the ski areas when you want, together or independently.
The 30 day consecutive pass is only for lift access, no accommodation is on offer. You can use a Travel Pass of 10 or 7 days to use toward mountain lodge accommodation.
To qualify for the rates offered we must have received your payment before midnight on the cut off date.

From the 1st of June Chill Passes are available to purchase at in-season pricing.
Our bank account number is 06 0801 066528001 (ANZ), account name is CHILL. When making a bank deposit ensures that you include your FULL NAME & ORDER NUMBER. If you are making a deposit in person at your bank please include your phone number as the reference otherwise we cannot identify your payment.
Child rates apply to children who are 10 years and Under on 20 June 2020.
Youth rates apply to youths aged 11-18 years on 20 June, 2020.
We may require written proof of eligibility for the Child or Youth Pass, if this is the case we will contact you.
No, to qualify for a student pass you must be enrolled in a full-time course of study at a New Zealand or Australian institution.
In order to be eligible for a student pass you need to be in full-time study with a New Zealand Tertiary Education provider at the time of the ski season (semester 2). You must prove to us that you are enrolled full time (a student ID is not sufficient proof). We accept internal transcripts or a letter from the registry stating your enrollment details.
We begin to issue passes in May/June. If you have paid for postage we will send them out to you provided we have received your photo or have a previous year’s photo on file.
If you have elected to pick up your pass we will let you know when they are ready via our newsletter, website and social media channels.
Please note: If you have purchased a student pass you will need to come in to pick up your pass so we can see proof of full-time enrollment. Alternatively, you can email us your proof of enrollment and you can pay to have your pass couriered.
When applying for your pass you can upload a passport sized photo that clearly shows your face (i.e. no hats, sunglasses, goggles or helmets in the photo). You can also email your photo to firstname.lastname@example.org
Yes, if you wish to upgrade your pass you can and will only pay the difference between the passes.
Please note that you will pay the difference in face value from when you purchased your pass if you decide to upgrade and a $10 administration fee applies.
No, we recommend that you do if you're on a full season's pass, but you can hire them on the mountain as per their terms and conditions. We also have a limited number available for rent in-store, you can book rental gear.
Yes, if you're a season pass holder you can ski up to two mountains in any one day. If you are a Travel Pass holder you will use one of your days each time you track in. So if you choose to ski two mountains in one day you will use two of your total number of days. The loyalty rate applies to pass holders who have purchased a pass in 2019 only. The same rates apply for people purchasing passes as a family or for those who are paid up 2020 club members.
No, you need to pay for your pass before the specified date no matter what payment method you have selected when ordering your pass. E.g. If you come in to Chill HQ to pay for your pass after 31 May the In-Season price will apply.
Yes, we will have it on file.
No, you can mix and match across the pass types, and a family discount, per pass type will be applied. There is one exception, when purchasing an Adult Parent Pass it must be the same as the corresponding Adult Pass
We offer the same rate for people 65 and older as we do for students.
Ski areas like Mt Lyford and Hanmer Springs have both rope tows with nutcrackers and other tows (platter/T-bar). This gives you a chance to try it out and cross between the different tows during the day.
For the other ski areas like Broken River, Craigieburn. Temple Basin, Mt Olympus, Fox Peak. You can mention to the staff you're a newbie and they may assist with a few good tips.
Glove protectors are a leather sleeve with a built-in thumb. You wear them over the top of your gloves. If you're going to be riding rope tows you either need glove protectors or extremely tough gloves. Normal gloves won't last long!
We sell glove protectors and Kincos gloves which are tougher than most, available online.
A Parent Pass is offered as a second pass within a family and available when purchasing a full Adult Season Pass. There are very good savings for the family when buying two adult passes, one of which is a 'Parent Pass'. In most instances you must also buy a Child and/or Youth pass with a Family unit inclusive of an Adult and Parent Pass.
Yes, we record the pass use at each ski area to allocate the funds across them. We are using a digital tracking system which is speeding the process up, however with the variety of ski areas (in size and facilities) some still ask for you to record your pass# manually (Fox Peak, Awakino). For the larger resorts like Porters there is a specific ticket location.
